I can completely sympathise. The other day I went to World of Carpet to buy a new telescope but was astounded and disgusted at the complete lack of optical equipment. Its almost as if they'd purposely set out to satisfy the needs of carpet buyers but deliberately snubbed those who weren't. Utter madness.
